Florida Trip

Sunset on the BeachDad, mom and I just got back from a trip to Captiva Island, Florida. What a beautiful place! We met our friends, Dave and Shirley and their son Aaron’s family, and had a very relaxing week. Sitting on the beach with my toes in the sand, swimming in the Gulf and the pool were the highlights of the week. We rented a beach wheelchair that had great big rubber tires that would go anywhere on the beach, even floating in the Gulf. I came home with a sack full of sea shells that we collected and a lot of great memories.

EXCITING NEWS!!!

Exciting news to share! I am meeting with my team and the publisher in Spokane who has agreed to help me self-publish my book tomorrow afternoon. We are taking him some additional pictures and some final changes to the draft that he printed for me. I am sooo excited to be getting closer to being a published author!!!

Everyday Hero

Sandy Jones, the director of Free Rein, was honored as an Everyday Hero by KXLY April 23 on the 6:30 news. It was filmed back in March when we first started riding and it happened to be a day I was there; so mom and I  are in the video too. It is a fantastic video and is a really big honor for Sandy! You can watch it by checking out the following link:  http://www.kxly.com/news/spokane-news/Everyday-Heroes-Sandy-Jones/-/101214/19870238/-/wf08icz/-/index.html

A-Team Meets Again

When I first started my adventure into the work world, I put together a team of professionals (family and friends) to brainstorm  and assist me in planning the future. It has been several years since the A-Team (Andrea’s Team)  has been together, but this Tuesday we are meeting again to discuss my book. A local publisher has put together a bound copy for me. My dream of being a published author is getting closer.

Horses on ‘Spring Break’

Chester & Andrea We have had great weather for the start of our spring session this year. My pciture is from last week when Chester and I got together to go for a ride!  The horses are on ‘spring break’ this week.

Spring is HERE!

Spirng is here and I am back in the saddle again! We started riding last Friday and have had great weather so far.  Last week we forgot to take Chester carrots and boy did he give us a dirty look. He did get his carrots this week. Last week there was a cameraman from one of the tv stations. They are going to be doing a segment on Sandy and Free Rein. I may be in the video. I will let you know when that will be on. It is so great to be riding again!

Auction-Big Success

The Free Rein Auction that was held February 2nd was a big success. They sold out all their seating and will be looking for a bigger location next year.  Mom and I helped set up on Friday afternoon and were able to preview some of the items in the silent auction. I bid on and won 2 new Free Rein shirts, one pink and one red, and gift certificates to Youthful Horizon Theraphy where I get my massage therapy. I have already used one. The dinner (pulled pork barbecue) was delicious and they also had a dessert auction which was really fun.

Happy New Year

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! The New Year is bringing preparation for the Free Rein Annual Barn Dance. It will be held February 2nd this year. Last week mom and I went out to the barn and helped a group of 10 get the newsletter ready to mail and invites for the Barn Dance.
